Homemade Chai (tasting) tea

So I have the hot cinnamon tea from Target that I wanted to use up. I did not like it warm. I made it cold and it reminds me of the Chai tea that I used to get from Sheetz (like wawa). It was very expensive. I used 5 tea bags and a cup of sugar for 2 gallons of tea and let it sit in room temp water for 6 hours, stirring halfway through. At the end, I took out the tea and put it in the fridge. I'm sure it's not authentic, but I thought someone may be able to cut it from their budget if they couldn't recreate a similar flavor homemade. I'm planning to get just a cinnamon tea after I use up the container I have because it's nice to have something other than water in the morning and I can't have coffee.
