Frugal phone of 8 years finally kicked the bucket. Looking for help for something for the next 8 years
Having gotten my phone as swag from a conference (thus not making the purchase decision initially) and having had it for 8 years, I am really out of touch with the mobile phone market. I am wondering if it's a good idea to get a used phone, or if it's more worth it to get something new with some kind of an initial warranty. Given my phone chugged along for 8 years with no repairs (not even a cracked screen), I feel like I could keep a phone going without needing extra warranty stuff, but I may have just had an outlier in terms of overall reliability. It really doesn't need to be a fancy phone - just take calls, text messages and play the odd podcast and audiobook (from the library!). Any recommendations/cautions/help would be greatly appreciated for another 8 year frugal phone.
