7 Grand for College Car

Hey fellow Redditors! I have a tough one this time, so I have 7000 dollars and I'm looking for a really nice car to get me through Minnesota winters and last the next 5 years without large costs because I'm not rich and I'm in college.

I'm looking for under 75000 miles, 2008 or newer, and fwd or 4wd for the winters, and Japanese companies preferably. Clean title of course... so should I buy used, lease for a new car given I have a subpar credit score, or buy new? Any help is appreciated!!
