Appen 9 (China) - Pending start

So I got invited to a project on Appen 9 through my Global account. I had to opt-in and register for the China portal, etc through the main Appen Connect site. Received confirmation that I'm approved and it just shows "the job is preparing" since last month. Today I got another invite for the same project but different tasks (previous was transcription, new one is labeling).

Should I join both job types for the same project? Should I just wait until the project starts? Should I query support about when it's going to start or if it already started and I need to do something else to get approved?

It's the first time I got something other than crappy Facebook surveys through Appen so I'm not sure how this works.
