Need advice on saving money on groceries with diabetes
So as a diabetic I have to watch my carbs, sugars and fats while also trying to get a good amount of protein in each primary meal. So because of that, I can't eat the typical "cheap" foods very much or in large amounts like pasta, rice, most breads etc. For most of my primary meals I can have about 45-60g of carbs and for snacks about 15-20g. Obviously have to watch out for things like added sugars and fats as well. I'm finding that it's been very hard to not spend a decent amount of money on groceries and stay within my needed food types. For just my husband and I we spend around 150-180/wk for groceries rn and it just feels like a lot. Does anyone else with diabetes (or living with someone with diabetes) have any advice for saving money on weekly grocery shopping?
