Potential scam?

Hi everyone, I accepted an offer for a company I honestly didn’t do that much research about. There are red flags like I can’t find the managers on LinkedIn and their website the only mention of them I see on the internet. Their emails also consist of a few typos. However, the communications seems typical at first and I had a lot of external stressors with some family stuff, I just think I totally ignored common sense or maybe was too stressed to care. So unfortunately I already sent over my ssn and drivers license via email, and my first day is today. They sent me a task today and all it is is researching local charity events near me and I just feel uncomfortable with the whole thing, despite it being a minor project without any financial interruptions. Does anyone have experience in this area? Is it time to contact police and the bank? I’m sure many will be tempted to explain how stupid it is to fall for a scam but trust me lol I know, people just go through shit and make mistakes sometimes! Thank you all in advance :)
