Free Car? What’s the Catch?

I found a Craigslist post saying that they want to get rid of an old car (1995). The owner passed away, and I was wondering if this is a scam or something? I haven’t bought a car before, so I’m not sure about the process. I know about getting the pink slip and the transfer of title thing, but that’s about it. If I do get this car, I would have to pay for insurance, registration,and possibly a smog test. Am I missing anything? I mean a free car sounds too good to be true.
