How do you deal with all the potential viruses and scammy websites?

I recently tried out swag bucks and a few other recommended sites, and afterwards I checked my cache data on Firefox and saw my new meet of blocked trackers was up by an order of magnitude.

With all this link clicking and surfing through multiple websites to complete a task or survey, it’s unnerving that we all have viruses on our computers.

How do you deal with the threat? I really don’t get how sacrificing your data and pc is worth it.
