Questions about the logistics of working for Appen and other online work projects

No comments :

I used the search feature and watched a few online reviews of working for Appen and the like, but I was hoping someone could tell me a bit more. I have 2-6 hours of downtime at work everyday so I would like to start doing some online work. I can bring in a laptop and use a mobile hotspot on my phone, but there are a few things unique about this environment compared to your traditional "work-from-home" situation.

I don't know when/how much downtime I have (except pretty reliably 2 hours in the morning), but I will have several hours throughout the day. I have about 1 minute notice before I have to jump up and get to work for 12-45(+) minutes at a time. Not sure if the tasks on Appen are timed or if this kind of interruption would be a hinderence to working. I could definitely come back to the task and finish it within the following two hours.

My work environment can be loud (and dirty), so I couldn't do anything like tutoring. I don't have a landline here and the internet would have to be a mobile hotspot. I am willing and able to finish any tasks I start later that night at home (no kids or other obligations).

I am looking for 10-40 hours a week of work. Basically I am living well on my proper job but I have debts I want to pay down, no life, and I want to make something of this insane amount of downtime I have (where I am completely alone and free to do whatever). Yesterday I sat from 12:45-4:15 with nothing to do except for the occasional 3 minute walk around the facility checking gauges.

Any advice is appreciated.
