Just got accepted to work for Lionbridge and have some questions.

PS: I'm in India.

So firstly, What does it mean to be " registered as a self-employed individual"? I just turned 18, where do I register myself?

Lastly, they want to know what I am paying as taxes, India's taxing system works very different and you don't directly pay tax where I stay, which is a rather rural part of town.
