Appen- anyone work longer than what their contract stated?

My contract is for 12 to 18 months. I’m almost near the 18th month. I’m wondering if anyone else ever worked until the end of there contract and what happens next??? Do they let you go right at the 18th month or is it possible to stay on the project? This is probably a long shot but thought I see what others experienced.
