Games which require work rather than luck

Are there any games like puzzles and survival or Star Trek that actually require grinding rather than games like monopoly go and dice dreams and bingo? I really enjoyed the first 2 but the last 3 games are all luck based like monopoly go and I keep failing. It's very annoying.
