Situational Advice

No comments :

Hi,

Due to chronic illness, full-time work is no longer possible for me, however I firmly believe part-time work is still very possible for myself to achieve. I am looking to try obtain something remote 15-25 hrs a week I would say to try make an income.

If it wasn't for health, I could walk into a job within 1-2 weeks I reckon, in fact an old co-worker of mine offered to recommend me to his company, despite them being quite flexible and apparently a good company, not sure they will still be able to meet my requirements though.

I have 10 years of experience in IT, worked as a senior engineer in my last job doing security audits, infrastructure audits, solving the escalated jobs other engineers could not solve, I have done network engineering jobs, was a certified network engineer previously. I have done a lot of work around phone systems/voice as well, I have conducted security mitigations etc, list goes on really.

I also have experience in customer service, several years previously, all my other experiences are in physical jobs such as construction, this is now off the cards for me due to health reasons. I would also like to make it clear I am in "Australia" also.

I have also seen apparently there are a lot of job scams out there, I guess my question is where should I avoid to avoid the such job scams, any platforms people are aware of? Does anyone have any potential ideas for me, maybe another field where my skills could transfer to which might be flexible friendly for me to be able to work and make an income? Or any general ideas for online work that could suit my part-time hours flexibility requirement? (I am aware the remote scene is very competitive, I will just need to try either way).

Currently, in-house IT positions I am running into want some time in the office and generally full-time, managed service providers seem to have flexibility to a degree but can be highly stressful and/or hybrid options, I am seeing a load of hybrid options but mostly full-time for the most part.

If anyone has any input or advice it will be much appreciated, thanks.
