Doing even just small car maintenance items yourself can save a lot, anything is better than nothing

I know we always see posts here about doing your own car repairs and maintenance and how much it can save. Probably like a lot of you, though, I don't have a creeper to get under the car for oil changes. There are definitely some upkeep items that, as simple as they are, some of us just can't do.

However, today I changed a burnt out headlight. A few weeks ago, I changed the cabin air filter. These are things that would have cost me $30-50 in labor to do at a shop. Instead, I bought the filter for $15 and the bulb was $10. It took some learning the hard way, but next time it won't take me nearly as long to do either.

Just saying, if there's anything you can do yourself, do it. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Maybe you can only do the air filter. Maybe you can only change the oil. Anything is better than nothing, and the feeling of doing any small "repair" on your own is amazing. Especially as a very not car savvy person lol.
