Hi there r/frugal! What are some of the most useful or memorable tips you found on the sub in 2020?

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well! Us mods are soliciting your feedback on which tips/threads on r/frugal you found to be the most useful or memorable for you in the past year and why!

A little context of why we're soliciting your feedback - we were asked to be a part of a new community-focused component of Reddit's "Year in Review." (You can check out last year’s here: https://www.reddit.com/r/blog/comments/e62krf/reddit_in_2019/)

They're interviewing us with 9 different questions, asking for answers in the lens of this unprecedented year. Essentially, Reddit's admins may publish portions of our answers/quotes for the 2020 Year in Review report. The last question is the one in the topic title! As we racked our brains trying to pick and choose what we felt the most useful or memorable tip was in the sub, we began to realize that we'd be super biased trying to pick out only a few memorable tips. Our answer would basically align with our own hobbies or interests and wouldn't be representative of the community here.

We then thought, why not ask the -community- for their thoughts?! We'll keep this thread stickied for 48 hours. After that, we'll submit one of the most popular answers from here as a direct answer to the question posed by the Admins and credit your username!

Thank you all so much in advance for your participation in this thread and in the sub! Your helpfulness toward one another has been so inspirational. Here's to many more years of being frugal!
