EF Tours cancellation
I could really use as much help as of now. My school booked a trip for Greece for 2021 and it's meant for seniors. I decided to join since it is going to be my last year of high school.
Were not supposed to go until June 10th, 2021, however, seeing as we have Covid-19 going on and I don't think it'll stop in a year or two. My dad is currently the one paying for my trip which is a total of $4k plus non refundable fees. At first I didn't think much of the price believing it was fair since we are going to Greece for 10 days. However, with the pandemic, I find it costful and as much as I was excited to go, I believe it's taken a toll on our finances, especially my dad since he is the only one working.
We purchased the global protection plan, and I'm a bit confused on the cancellation policy since they update it for the Covid-19 and they might have sneak some details in it. My dad currently paid $1,400 dollars at the moment.
I also been hearing that the company cancelled many trips for this year due to the pandemic, but they are refusing to give their customers their money back and I'm afraid it'll happen to my family if they decide to do the same thing for next year.
Here are my concerns, if I cancel will they give me a refund if I tell them we can no longer pay due to financial struggles or will I have to give them a better valid reason such as the ones stated in their cancellation policy/global protection plan policy. Will I have to pay a cancellation fee even though were not close to the departure date? How long will it take to get my money back and what happens if they don't?
Please I could really use help at the moment! I really want to cancel as soon as possible and get my money back.
