New College Grad Advice
Graduated college almost two years ago and got a job in my field right away. Still live at home to save money. What i didn’t realize was how I still had bad eating habits from when I was college. Would eat out for lunch pretty much everyday and maybe once or twice on the weekends. After my first year at my job, I looked at my transaction history over the year through my bank and the amount of money i spent on food was absurd.
Since then, i’ve made a conscious effort to pack a lunch everyday and try to eat food solely from the house at least one day on the weekend. I still go out with friends a few times month but now that i’m making a dedicated effort to save on food i’ve already saw my spending per month go down dramatically.
Just my two cents. Try to pack lunch or at least use coupons/rewards points whenever you can. Those $6 chick fil a and mcdonalds meals really add up quick. Glad I nixed it sooner rather than later.
