Lionbridge ad rater tasking question

New worker looking for clarification on when it's safe to stop a work session. Is a task a single item up until the submit button, or is it up until "acquiring a new task" message. Can I stop at any time as long as something is submitted or do I need to complete what seems to be a workflow? TIA
