discounted movie tickets in canada?

Hey all! I’m fond of going to the movies as much as the next person, but i’m really not a fan of having to pay up nearly $15 with taxes every time i want to see a film on the big screen. Because i don’t want to further fuel the capitalist machine that is cineplex, i only really go like twice a year :/

what are some ways i can get a discount on a regular movie ticket, if as a student or to find a coupon online? i’m aware there’s also the costco bundle but in this case i’m just looking to watch a movie and not load myself with cinema snacks either. anything helps!
