Can't use Walmart gift card to order edelivery item?

I wanted a $25 Google Play gift card and they were out of stock on SB, so ordered a $25 Walmart card, intending to buy the gift card I wanted on the Walmart website. However, my order for the Google Play card was cancelled because they "couldn't verify some or all of your payment information" and to "be sure your billing address, phone number and credit card information is correct and current."

I added my credit card information and the order was still being canceled with the same cancellation message. I finally contacted customer support and was told, "the system will not allow you to purchase an Email Delivery item ( Softwares, codes, eGift cards, other Gift cards) with a Gift card." I then asked whether I could order an item plus the gift card and pay for it using the gift card and credit card, and CS said no, and that my only option was to go to the store and buy it.

Do you guys know any way around this? I don't mind going to the store, but the whole situation was pretty bizarre with the system allowing me to order an item it was guaranteed to cancel later.
