Transcribing Question
"Please read the following sentences:
- We planned the trip for, um a year, and we like traveled to ten countries in ah, five weeks.
- We planned the trip for a year, and we traveled to 10 countries in 5 weeks.
- We planned the trip for a year and we like traveled to ten countries in five weeks.
Please type the correct answer for a clean verbatim file in box below."
In the other questions it is clear if we are supposed to choose one of the available options, but in this one I'm not sure if I should choose one or write my own sentence.
In there Style Guide it says:
"Numbers zero through nine are spelled out. Numbers 10 and above, please use numerals. The exception to this would be if there are numbers 9 or below and 10 or above in one sentence. In this case, please use all numerals."
and
"In the same sentence or paragraph, however, items in one category may be given as numerals and items in another spelled out."
The correct sentence would be:
- "We planned the trip for a year, and we like traveled to 10 countries in 5 weeks."
or
- "We planned the trip for a year, and we like traveled to 10 countries in five weeks."
I passed everything in there exam but I always got this question wrong. What am I doing wrong?
