I cannot find an active mechanic sub, but I have a question about reusing tires.

I am getting new tires for my truck (F-150). It is not frugal, I know, but I work hard 7 days per week and want to reward myself from time to time. Anyways, I digress.

The tires have 16k miles on them. They are the OEM tires. They are 275/55/20 tires. They still have tons of tread on them. My wife's Explorer Sport is coming up on a tire replacement. The Explorer has 255/50/20 tires on it. Would my tires fit on her rig?

I have been getting conflicting answers. Ford says "yes, they'll fit" on Monday, but then "no they won't" on Tuesday. The tire shops are the same way. One says sure and another says nope.

Edit: Her tires are 255mm in width. Not 235
