Air/line drying clothes

I'm moving to a rental on the outskirts of town, that has a backyard. Buying a drying machine and paying for the electricity used by one seems like an expense I don't need.

How do I cheaply set up a set of clotheslines, and/or get a cheap drying rack? Which is the best to use?

I've seen clothesline posts for sale but it costs around $70 for the wire and post. What seems great are drying racks, which range from $14 to $90 and come in all shapes and sizes.

Do any of you air dry your clothes? What works best?
