Is getting a state license for health/life insurance worth it?

I want to do health insurance or life insurance agent work. Although I’ve been told it’s not legit and it’s more of a pyramid scheme than anything else?

Has anyone gotten licensed to work as an insurance agent? Is it lucrative?
