I’m using cardboard to create my own Halloween decorations this year, what are some of your favorite ways to save money around the holidays?

This year I’m trying to save money by NOT going to the party stores I usually go to and buying junk decorations that will break in three days. Instead I’m taking large cardboard boxes I would normally throw away from work and creating fun homemade decorations (coffins, pumpkins, small houses to put fake candles in.)

What are some ways you’ve found to save money by either making your own decorations or other homemade items around the holidays?
