Need piano bench surface to be cushioned and around 1-3 inches taller [need ideas or advice]

I caught the spouse trying to use blankets to gain some height and cushion on his black wooden piano bench.

Is there some kind of attractive non-skid black (or white or maroon) padding/cushioning that might sit atop a surface where he could gain some height?

(Those colors would work in the room.)
