Current market used car buy

I’m considering purchasing a used truck. I have stable job in this market and good credit. Was looking to spend around $17,000. Thinking about going through dealer and will have to finance. Would it matter if I bought it now or would it be worth waiting to see if cars might get cheaper with the market changing? Any advice or other considerations would be appreciated.

Edit: It would be a truck just for personal use (yard-work, around town, fun, etc). So probably will own it for awhile. Would not be putting many miles on it. I own a small (paid for) low gas usage car that drive for work.
