How do you avoid sweets?

For people who are sweet addicts or just love having some candy every now and then, how do you avoid spending money or limiting your money on candy/desserts?

That's my only kryptonite! I've spent too much at Walmart buying snacks that I don't need so any advice or substitutions would be greatly appreciated!
