Making a Move as Cheap as Possible

I'm moving from Colorado to Texas next month. I've inquired with Budget and Uhaul for moving trucks but theyre asking for 700+ for the move Which is quoted for 5 days and I dont need it for that long. They wont budge on price even if I need it for 2 days at most. I'm moving a 1 bedroom apartment but we're getting rid of a lot of our stuff. Mostly keeping a couch, desk, clothes, and some other personal belongings we can't really get rid of. I drive a SUV but the towing capacity is not strong enough for all the stuff we have. Any suggestions on what I can do to minimize cost? Thanks in advanced!
