Acorns is currently running a promotion from the 16th to the 30th of this month where if you refer 5 friends, and if those five friend invest $5 they will give you $500. It's pretty safe money if you can find the friends.

If you're not familiar with Acorns it's a investment application that takes extremely small payments -- say like five dollars -- and invest them from you. They have options to do a monthly reoccurring investment, or invest the change amount rounded up to the nearest dollar on all purchases (so if you spend $1.50 on a coffee it will invest $0.50 for you). None of these options are required for you to qualify for the promotion however. You just need a friend to make an initial investment of $5 and leave it in for at least a month. They can take it out after that, and will have probably have accumulated a small amount a capital (roughly a couple of cents) by that time. Shouldn't be hard to talk a few friends into that, especially given that both of you will get a free five dollars upon their signing on.
