Student trying to follow the frugal lifestyle. Any tips?
Software Engineering student, currently working part time in IT and going to school.
I make about $1123.20 per month working. My rent is $481 My phone bill is $140 Gas will run about $50 per month or so.
I also do some freelance computer work, fixing PCs, doing data backups, setting up Linux operating systems and home servers for people. It's not that steady, but i get a couple hundred bucks a month from that as well.
I ride my bike to school, planning to also begin riding it to work so i can cut the gas/car use except when out with friends. School is a 6 mile round trip, work is a 10 mile round trip. This has also allowed me to cancel my gym membership (savings of $30 a month! Plus more in gas costs!)
What are some frugal tips you can offer me? I want to get some bulk food items but haven't got a clue where to look. Big name grocery stores can't possibly have the best of the deals?
Thanks!
