TRAVELING CLASSROOM

Can you travel as a VIPKID teacher? Heck yea! And don’t feel like you have to lug around a ton of stuff! I travel full-time with only a carry-on holding my personal items and my mobile office and classroom.

MY CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

Laptop (I use a MacBook Pro, and I have a $100 Chromebook for a back-up!) Professional headset

Mouse (This is so necessary for writing legibly on the slide)

MY CLASSROOM PROPS

-Flashcards: ABC’s, 123’s, colors and animals (having a visual helps keeps young kids attention.)

-1 small 8″ x 5″ white board and several markers. A small one is actually easier to use than a big one!

-A felt smiley face I made for $2. I use velcro squares as “teeth”, this is a reward system, you will learn all about it in the hiring process, I won’t waste your time now!

-A small hand puppet and stuffed animal. Small kids love them. Great for trial classes, and you can use them to teach kids how to repeat after you, answer questions, or simply just entertain them!

-Bright red lipstick and under-eye concealer: Since many teachers work the wee hours of the morning, exhaustion and falling asleep or real problems. I never risk looking tired by using lipstick and conceal to brighten my face. I also smile and laugh a lot, and use my hands when speaking.

-3 orange T-Shirts. This is the VIPKID teacher uniform. The ones I have are dry-fit type material. I multi-purpose them as workout shirts and sleeping shirts. I am sick of seeing myself in orange, however, I’ll never be caught without one on hand! It’s a requirement they take very seriously.

-An apple: or something similar. A few recognizable items can be used for a huge variety lessons. Be creative!

-Tape: to hang things up behind you

-A Laminated Map of The World: “It’s morning here and night there?! What!” – Blow their minds! VIPKID Teacher Classroom
