How much money can I make online as a programmer?
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Long story short, I lost my programming and system administrator job due to the company closing and I have no savings. My cousin down in Brazil has offered to take me in while I get on my feet, but has given me a time limit of three months to make some money and move back home to Canada. I'm pretty well versed in a lot of different programming languages and I really want to make a go of working online. So, how much money could I potentially make online as a programmer? I don't really need a lot, but around $25 per hour would be nice for now. I have a small goal of $3,000 in three months or less before I go back home to Canada, is this feasible or do I need to rethink things?
I do have a few side projects I can use as a portfolio, and I'll have around 40-60 hours a week free.
