Travel and online work!

If your looking to change your life and travel as much as you can and embrace a more minimalist lifestyle! I feel a big part of this is having a job that can be done anywhere in the world with an internet connection!

What are some places to start looking?

If you have a good camera and a good eye, you can sell photos to almost any magazine. Pick a topic, check the Writer's Market book for magazine publishers' info, take some shots, send them a pitch. NatGeo pays its photographers VERY well and often pairs them up with traveling journalists to cover their stories.


Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Time are all known for paying their writers and photographers quite well, as well as covering travel expenses.


I'd also advise checking some freelance writing forums, or LinkedIn pages, to possibly build a roster of journalists for collaborations. This way if one of them lands a sweet gig and needs a photographer, they can push for you to get it, and vice versa. Finding a home among graphic designers will help get those leads, too.


Otherwise, marketing and advertising shops always need graphic guys, and any company that publishes a catalog (online or off) needs photographers.
