List of reputable Clickworker/UHRS alternatives (Crowdsourcing websites)

This list was made primarily as a result of the recent Clickworker mass bannings. Clickworker (partnered with UHRS) is probably the best or at least most popular (aside from mTurk) crowdsourcing platform on the internet. Unfortunately, either for being banned under shady circumstances (and not having emails responded to) or having no work available if you're from a non U.S./Canada/UK country, many of us are unable to use it. For that reason I decided to compile a list of all (reputable) crowdsourcing sites that I personally know of. Feel free to comment with others and I'll add them to the list.

• mTurk (U.S. only unless you had an account when it allowed international users)

This is probably the most well known crowdsourcing platform. This one is ran by Amazon and it's pretty straightforward. There are two big problems here unfortunately. Number one, the pay is awful compared to UHRS - at least when starting out. Number two, you need to have significant financial activity on record for them to verify your identity, usually this requires you having done taxes at one point or another. As a result of #2 I haven't personally had the pleasure of working here. I would recommend downloading the Turkopticon add-on if you sign up.

• Crowdflower through Clixsense/other sites Register at Clixsense (International)

This one is a bit of a... complicated case. There are tasks available on the main site but usually there are more tasks on the numerous other sites it is partnered with. I looked at the main website a few days ago and I only found a single task, but that might have been a result of me not currently being in the U.S. I'd recommend signing up on the main site as well as checking the tasks on CS and you'll see what I mean. There are a lot of other sites that Crowdflower is associated with as well, I think NeoBux has it too if you're registered there.

• Microworkers (U.S. only?)

This one is more of a wild card and less consistent than mTurk or Crowdflower but it generally pays pretty well for tasks. I've seen tasks like 'like this youtube video for 50 cents' on there albeit infrequently. The minimum payout here is $10 and when you're just starting out it may take you a month or so to reach the payout. I'm not too familiar with how this site is run now but it's definitely something worth registering for and checking up on daily.

• Appen (International?)

Some stuff on this doesn't count as crowdsourcing, but from my knowledge it is ALSO partnered with UHRS. I was going to refrain from listing it here because it is partnered (to my knowledge) with UHRS, and thus not sure if anyone would be able to register for it if also registered on clickworker.
