Advice for someone returning to the blogosphere after a half-decade break?

A little over five years ago I created my own blog, where I mainly discussed current events. I made close to $300 in a month which was pretty good for me since I had just turned 18, was still in high school and it was close to Christmas.

Now I'm wanting to get back into blogging and take it a lot more serious, and hopefully within the next year have it be something that can give me a steady income.

I plan on making a casual World of Warcraft blog. The amount of subscribers for the game have been dropping significantly, so I feel now would be a good time to start something, that way when the next expansion releases (in September) I can have a head start at getting new followers.

I'm wondering though what are some basic tips I should know. I plan on adding Google Adsense eventually, and I'm looking into affiliates. How often should I make posts? I'm thinking 3-4 times per week.
