Spare 5.

I first stumbled across Spare5 about 7 weeks ago, I wasn't expecting much because I live in Australia where basically any form of beermoney is almost non existent. But I have managed to accumulate about $70.62 USD up to now which has been the most successful I've had till now.

What is Spare5?

Spare5 provides tasks and in return for completing it you receive money. Spare5 also has an app which can be found on both iphone and android which unlocks additional tasks that do not appear on the website. Before you can receive any task you must have passed their qualification tasks. It is relatively simple to pass it because even if you fail it, you receive another chance in 48 hours. The tasks usually come in waves so this means that there will be times you have a lot of tasks but also times when you barely have any tasks.

What types of tasks are available?

1. Image Tagging: You receive $0.02 for every image you tag. It doesn't sound much but if you keeping refreshing your app or website there are always images to tag. I have personally tagged over 2000 images but it is not as time consuming as it sounds.

2.Find Significant Items/Find Fashion Items: You receive $0.05 for identifying items in an image. You will be given an image and if for example you see a chair, you draw a tight box around it and select chair in a list of tags. This is a bit more time consuming.

3.Classify Tweets: You receive $0.01 for completing this task. Simply you are required to categorize the tweet and identify the tone of the tweet. Simple but you won't earn much, I've made maybe $0.70.

4. Find Mismatching Shoes/Find the Closest Matching Shoe: You receive $0.02. There is a reference picture and then about 12 shoes below that you identify as least similar or most similar to the reference picture. Usually the task set is around 500, so if you have a lot of time you could try to complete most of it but it is not required.

Those are the main tasks but Spare5 will sometimes have new tasks that are worth higher and more interesting to do. When does spare5 pay? Earnings that are at least $1 made between Wednesday-Wednesday period will be paid on Friday around 5pm pacific time. This is paid through paypal and there are no additional transaction costs.

Why haven't I received any tasks? I noticed that maybe in the first 2 weeks you won't receive many tasks. But as you pass more qualification tasks and do a decent job in the tasks you receive. Eventually you will receive more tasks and also remember that tasks come in waves.
