What does linguistic annotation entail?

The job I want to apply to requires a degree in linguistics or similar. I will have a foreign language as part of my degree so it is not exactly linguistic.

Is there anywhere online that can give me linguistic annotation experience? I have never heard of this job but I hope my degree will give me a chance at the job.
