You can grow potatoes in a 5gal pail

Works great if your renting and can't dig up the grass or if you only have a patio.

Just add about 3in of soil at the bottom of the pail, grab an old potato with eyes sprouting. You can cut the potato into sections that have 2 eyes each. Set them into the soil eyes facing up and just cover it with maybe 1in of soil. As it sprouts up wait until the sprout Is about 2in above the soil and add an inch or 2 of soil and repeate until the pail is full.

When you go to take the potatoes out keep the soil for the next year or to plant something else. Each pail will give you 10-50lbs of potatoes. I can add pics once I'm home if any interest.
