Watching TV frugally

Hi there, I hope this is the right place for this post if not please redirect me. I currently have a laptop that I hook up to my TV with a hdmi cable. I have Netflix for free with my tmobile account and would like to add hulu. Would it better to just get a hulu account, firestick, or a roku? I really don't know how those 2 things works or cost so explanations and advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
